Geneva

Located in the Jonction neighborhood of Geneva, the 5-hectare site is home to a depot of the Geneva Public Transport (TPG), whose location will be reconsidered in the coming decades. A unique place in the Geneva conurbation, at the confluence of the Rhône and the Arve, this neighborhood is a particularly strategic space for weaving new links between the city and its river. With this in mind, the research aims to explore through the architectural project the multiple issues and potentialities of such an evolution. At the programmatic level, the prospective principle of a certain mix of housing and activities serves as a basis for the visions. Concerning the specific characteristics of the site, relevant reflections about the public spaces and the interaction with the cultural activities already present in the former Kugler factory are also part of the approach.
