RHODANIE URBAINE

Led by the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) of the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), the RHODANIE URBAINE research project aims to develop integrative strategies specifically adapted to rhodanian neighborhoods in transition by means of various complementary investigations. It first explores the potential of urban territories along the Rhône through a specific inventory aiming at a series of thematic analyses. In interaction with the architectural project studios and various experts, the approach then proposes project-based visions on four study sites in the regeneration process located in Sion, Geneva, Givors and Avignon, respectively. The research project also develops an analysis framework to compare the evolution potential of each site in terms of a new city-river balance. Finally, through targeted communications and the organization of dedicated events, the RHODANIE URBAINE research project encourages exchanges between prominent figures from the academic world and the actors involved in the field.
